This is an API-breaking change and should not be backported. Is there any way to add this without breaking API? (e.g. a setter?)

Yea I can make the change.
This PR also breaks the It's a good performance improvement, but let's think of a way to backport this in a non-API-breaking manner. Closing for now. |
