This is a rebased version of #1432, where we tested the release including the python bits.
In particular, we need to fix two issues, for which the fixes did not get backported to the release:
<nmmintrin.h>resp. mis-detection ofgrpc_cpp_pluginapache/arrow#44448This also fixes a long-standing inaccuracy in our builds (apparently CMake didn't think we're cross-compiling), and gets rid of the sed-hacks for the grpc_cpp_plugin 🥳
Finally, we also fix #1425, as discussed in that issue.
PS. Let's hope that, unlike #1432, this doesn't run into conda-forge/conda-smithy#2101
