The participants at the workshop on 8 December compiled a list of datasets, which forms the basis of a register. The team intends to use the NDE dataset register25 for its basic needs and extend the models with metadata properties that are not covered by NDE. The list compiled at the workshop includes both datasets that are and are not digitised. NDE confirmed it does not object against including offline collections in the register.

On top of the register the team will deliver the dataset browser through which users can find and review datasets. Data providers, such as museums and archives, can register relevant datasets in the registry. Filing a baseline opacity measurement is a requirement for registration. The measurement tool (deliverable 4) is a separate software module and not included in the dataset browser.

The first version of the dataset browser will be immediately available as a basic off-the-shelf solution included with the TriplyDb store.26 The team will deliver a bespoke version of the dataset browser with a fully designed user-oriented interface by the end of the first quarter of 2023. This version will become one of the core applications of the project and provide insights into who the actual users are. Moreover, the application will show the actual state of the datasets and stimulate data providers to improve transparency.
