That means people won't be able to use TailorBear because it's not distributed.

so this is a workaround, still it gets the issue solved for our users so IMO let's ship it ASAP?

Noting two prior occasions of this problem: #1049 & #1050 .

I suspect the best approach is for setup.py install to create these __init__.py , and for .gitignore to ignore them.
