I had some time today so I got the plugin working with the new google maps requirements and released it to wordpress.org since we previously in the dreaded "haven't been updated in over 2 years" area.
Just treating your repo as canonical and wanting to keep you in the loop! :)
Maybe it would easier for you to invite me as a developer on your github project? That way we can work there and tag releases & stuff in github.
