The goal of this dotfiles repository is to provide an easy way to install your personal setup onto a new system.
The installation script works out of the box and has no external dependencies. NOTE: On MacOS the package manager brew has to be installed first.
The installation of the dotfiles can be started automatically by executing the install-dotfiles.sh
script.
The script first tries to install the packages that are listed at the top of the script via the package manager
of the host system. As a second step all the software gets installed that is not available via a package manager.
NOTE: Some packages might not be available on every package manager. This script was tested on Fedora.
Operating System | Package Manager |
Fedora | dnf |
Ubuntu | apt |
MacOS | brew |
The additional software will be downloaded via curl
and installed with their own provided bash scripts.
