Special character <g ref="#vedic-sign-ardhavisarga"/> #80
Comments
Is there a common transliteration for this character? It seems to exist in multiple scripts, so it would be nice to be able to transliterate it as with the jihvāmūliya. |
The problem with jihvāmūlīya is that the ardhavisarga sign can represent both jihvāmūlīya and upadhmānīya. There is already a Unicode character for the jihvāmūlīya (U+1CF5). So, there won't be any way to distinguish the ardhavisarga (U+1CF2) from the jihvāmūlīya (U+1CF5). How about using a different symbol, such as
or something similar? |
Still thinking about this! |
All right! No worries.

If this is added, 1CF2 and 1CF3 should be distinguished I guess... |
Deepro, do you have any idea what the rotated ardhavisarga is for? |
Please check Shriramana Sharma's proposal:
