@Gmotion94 This cannot be approved - you refer to Red Pitaya instead of the Alveo and you do not explain that you need to flash the Alveo with the JTAG (*.bit file) and then reboot the server before starting ipython. Please speak with @wnew to get hold of the required bit file needed to flash the Alveo and please change Red Pitaya to Alveo, thanks. The rest seems fine though.

@Gmotion94 I think we will also need to install tcpborphserver on the host machine. Speak with robin van wyk on this and how to go about it, thanks. The rest should hopefully be fine.

@wnew and @Gmotion94: Sorry, just to confirm you want readthedocs to have an Alveo setup section like the Red Pitaya which will cover the tcpborphserver setup and flashing the alveo with our BSP. Then intro tutorial the same as the Red Pitaya. Then every user will know how to setup the Alveo, so they can run the tutorial. Follow how the Red Pitaya tutorial setup works. Then reference this page in your tutorial document. Then I think we are there. Robin and Wesley can help you, Lwando.

Hi Guys.

Might be best if we chat about this in a zoom call.

But, I agree that we need to mention the flashing of the Alveo when it is first recieved. I would just include a brief paragraph about having to install the CASPER flash image and point them to the repo https://github.com/ska-sa/alveo_flash_images

It details how to go about flashing your card and also provides scripts to do so.

@wnew Thanks, I agree fully. I didn't even realise we had that and yes, I think you did show me :)
