Rats. We may have to sign up with each financial institution we want to support: https://openbankinguk.github.io/read-write-api-site3/v3.1.10/profiles/read-write-data-api-profile.html#pre-conditions-for-tpps

Because it is very difficult for a poor open source developer like me to build custom-made secure connections to every single bank out there, I've called in the help from two companies that already solved that enigma. They cannot get enough credit:

Salt Edge is a fintech solution whose Spectre API supports over 5000 banks.
Nordigen is a fintech solution whose API supports over 2100 banks.

I have no affiliation and can't advoate for either solution, but they do cover most of the banks in the EU.

The SimpleFIN Bridge used Salt Edge many years ago. At the time, the upfront, per-month cost was too much and the quality of some results was poor -- I could tell they were scraping web pages rather than using Open Banking APIs.

But we'll take another look at them. It looks like they now have a free tier, and their paid tier is not as onerous.

I'll also poke around their terms of use to see if they'd allow individual users to sign up. If they do, Buckets could be made to talk directly to Salt Edge (and skip the SimpleFIN Bridge) with each user entering Salt Edge credentials into Buckets.

Wow, Nordigen looks like a much better option for a Buckets-only scenario (without SimpleFIN).

Thank you for posting this information!

This would be so useful as I can imagine quite a lot of people, like me, have many accounts and exporting/importing csv one by one by hand is prohibitive (2-step doesn't work with macros)

Hi. As it’s been a year since the last activity I was wondering if there’s any update on this? A data feed solution that doesn’t involve giving full ‘write access’ credentials for your bank account to a 3rd party would be a massive asset.

Nordigen was acquired by GoCardless
