Are there plans to update songbird to work with latest and upcoming versions of Qiime2?

This is a great tool. I can't always get it to work with my data (model fitting is not always easy to land) but I keep trying :)

Yes, we are in the process of developing a second version, where we'll ditch Tensorflow in favor of Stan.
Can't give a timeline right now, since its still in active development.

We actually have another iteration that is much more accurate. See below for the preprint and github. https://github.com/biocore/BIRDMAn https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2023.01.30.526328v1 But I’ll be honest, it is not easy to setup and run, since it requires a compute cluster. So we wont be able to have support for qiime2 in the near future.
