Replace vl for mac support

vl seems to not be available on MacOS so I was hoping this could be replaced with a different command that I could use on Mac.

I'll open a pull request when I figure it out.

somebody besides me is using my shell script? how on earth did you even hear about it 🤣 uh... yeah I'll take a look at it. I think vl is from npm. but yeah really annoying to have an unspecified dependency other than git and bash

@CAReyes I modified it to use column if available, and fall back to vl if available, and then fall back to sed
