Opening this again because the inability to import the module properly prevents the typechecker from working.
The layout is now more like a normal python package layout with all the source files under a folder with the package name. Another option is to go with a
srclayout where the package goes into an additional folder calledsrc. I haven't used this layout personally, but it is one of the officially recommended layout options for python projects.
