I used the old guitar sniffer about 7 months ago and it worked fine on my rock band 4 guitar, and i wanted to get back into it today so i installed the new guitar sniffer and everything else. I set up vjoy and followed all the instructions yet clonehero isn't detecting any input from my guitar

Hey any luck with this?

Once you have vJoy all set up you should plug in your XB1 wireless adapter, turn the guitar controller on and make sure it's connected, then start the guitarsniffer.exe file you downloaded. Press some buttons to make sure they highlight in the program.

If that's all working, go into Clone Hero and hit spacebar to open the controls. Set the controller to be the vJoy controller you set up, then map all the buttons.

Hope this helps!

@rhalick if the application is lighting up then it's an issue either with your vJoy install or vJoy configuration

can you send a picture of your vJoy conf?

@rhalick, I notice that your vJoy version is v2.1.9, what is your OS?

Reviving this issue, as I appear to have somewhat the same issue. Using a USB/Wireless Xbox Game adapter (the older fat adapter, not the newer slim or rounded one), to an Xbox One Rock Band 4 StratoCaster guitar. Guitar works just fine with the older FenderStratocasterSniffer program, but ONLY with version 3.0 of that program (won't work with 4.0). When attempting to use v4.0, the GuitarSnifferWrapper 4.0 GUI app shows no keys being pressed when using the guitar.

So, tried using this newer version GuitarSniffer program, but I get absolutely no input at all showing up in the GuitarSniffer GUI (v1.1). I've installed WinPCap 4.1.3, USBPcap 1.2.0.4, and vJoy 2.1.9.1 (Windows 10 specific version, since I'm on Windows 10). I've setup Controller 1 in vJoy EXACTLY like is indicated above and in the instructions. Unfortunately, GuitarSniffer GUI just does not show any keys when pressed. When GuitarSniffer is started, using the vJoy Monitor, it shows the GuitarSniffer Process ID attaching to vJoy controller 1, but no keys show as active in GuitarSniffer.

Again, it works with the old FenderStratoCasterSniffer progra (using same WinPCap 4.1.3, USBPcap 1.2.0.4), so it certainly indicates packets are making it from the guitar, through the adapter, to the PC. Just the newer software doesn't see it.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm happy to debug as needed.
Thanks!

I was having this issue but rebinding the color keys and strum bar in the control options seems to have fixed it.
