In Swift, the optional check can be done on the optional properties only when chaining.

Example:

Given this Swift:

struct User {
    let name: String
}
func optionalUser() -> User? {
    return nil
}

This sentence in Swift is correct:

optionalUser()?.name.count

But in Kotlin, it should be:

optionalUser()?.name?.count

(Note the carried ? on the chaining)
