Releases: ambiguousname/jackbox-custom-content
1.0.2
Jackbox Party Pack 7 changed one folder name, so this fixes the program crashing after that change.
My apologies to everyone else with open issues, I am working on it! I've mentioned in an issue that I'm currently working on a total re-write of the program: https://github.com/ambiguousname/jackbox-custom-content/tree/rust-refactor.
That is still very much going, but it is only going in my free time. If I had to give a generous estimate of when you're ready to start seeing actual releases based on the new project, it'd be in another 6 months to a year. Looking forward to publishing it then!
Version 1.0.1
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where files stored locally in the /games/ folder would not be imported correctly.
I'm surprised that there are still some who use this program. I can't exactly measure downloads, but thanks to those of you who are using it anyways! If anyone is experiencing more bugs, please let me know by opening an issue.
The Jackbox Games also tend to all have similar structures, so I could theoretically expand on the code in order to extend support for other games. So if there are any features or games you want added, let me know by opening an issue. I can't promise that I'll work on it right away, I have a somewhat busy schedule with school and summer plans. However, if there's enough demand for it, I can work on expanding support and refactoring a lot of this old code.
Again, thanks to everyone who's been using this tool!
Version 1.0.0!
After a few months of work, Jackbox Custom Content has a 1.0.0 release!
There might still be a few bugs, so please let me know if you're having any issues.
Check out the video demo here!
New Features:
- Program will let you know if it isn't in the correct folder
- When using the "Only Custom Content" menu, the program will tell you which games have already had their custom content removed.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where Champ'd Up wouldn't load response.ogg files.
- Fixed a bug with Blather 'Round where editing a Descriptor with "|T|" would add an extra |, making it "||T|".
- Fixed a bug with Blather 'Round where Forbidden Words got saved to custom_content.json improperly.
Beta Release
A whole bunch of new features!
- Blather 'Round Content
- Add words, categories, and descriptors (read Readme for more)
- Champ'd Up Content
- Add your own custom prompts
- For Round 2 and 2.5 prompts (that is, the prompts towards the end that switch halfway in), you can link connected prompts in the second round and add your own .OGG files to introduce and react to the prompts.
- Sample Content
- Want to see example pieces of content? Try importing the sample_custom_content.json file (Contains some adult humor).
- The sample content file is meant to be played with other Non-Custom content in the mix (there aren't enough custom content files for a full game with any number of players), but if you want you can use the "Only Custom Content" files
- External Content folder
- Now you can share custom content files (like .OGGs and .JPGs) with other people by dropping them into an "external content" folder in the same directory as your Jackbox Party Pack Custom.exe file, and sending that file along with your custom_content.json file for others to import.
- Misc. UI Improvements
- You can now edit game content by content type, game, or just edit all game content.
- You can now use the "Only Custom Content" feature with specific game content types.
That's about it. I've only tested this release with Quiplash 3, so if you have any feedback, let me know! After I get all the bugs I can find fixed, I think I might call this whole thing done.
Only Custom Content
Here are some new features:
- Champ'd Up content (I forgot to test this, so it's broken until the next release)
- Add your own custom prompts
- For Round 2 and 2.5 prompts (that is, the prompts towards the end that switch halfway in), you can link connected prompts in the second round and add your own .OGG files to introduce and react to the prompts.
- Only Custom Content feature
- You can now choose specific games to only use custom content for and delete all other non-custom content.
- Reset Custom Content
- If you restore the game's original files (or click "verify integrity of game files" on steam, you should use this to reset all of your custom content.
- Importing and Editing content improvements
- You can now select content in groups to edit or delete.
- Importing content no longer requires you to manually look at every piece of new content (you still can't directly import custom files like .PNGs or .OGGs, you'll have to add those in with an edit later.)
- Some misc. bugfixes here and there for importing and editing content.
- .EXE is moderately faster to start now.
- Selecting menu features should be a better experience now, with clicking and dragging to select options now enabled.
Talking Points, Importing Content
Features with this release:
- Talking Points Content:
- Add custom prompts
- Add your own pictures (They appear black on a phone, but they look fine when presented)
- Add your own slide transitions!
- Import other people's content!
- By going into the games folder of your Jackbox Party Pack 7 installation folder, you can copy the "custom_content.json" file and send it to your friends who can then import it and add it on to their own custom content.
- Note that as of right now, the "import content" option means opening a window for every new piece of content you're importing. It also hasn't been fully tested, so... beware of that.
Bugs Quashed:
- Fixed a bug where custom_content.json wasn't properly edited by the program
Editing Content, Bug Fixes
Features:
- You can now edit and open the folders for custom content.
- You can't edit the sound files for Quiplash Prompts, which is why the folder opening feature exists. If you want to edit a sound file, you have to open the folder and make your changes from there.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug which wouldn't allow you to make more than one piece of content.
Quiplash 3!
Features with this release:
- Add custom content to Quiplash 3 for the Jackbox Party Pack 7:
- Prompts (Rounds 1, 2, and 3)
- Safety Quips
- View your custom content in a list
- Delete your custom content
