Dart API Client

Several simple tools to make an API request to the API Server

How to use

  • Create Books class responsible for data stored behaind the API
/// The class responsible for some data named books stored in the API
class Books {
  final ApiAddress _address;
  final SqlQuery _sqlQuery;
  ///
  Books({
    required ApiAddress address,
    required SqlQuery sqlQuery,
  }) :
    _address = address,
    _sqlQuery = sqlQuery;
  ///
  /// returns all stored Books
  Future<Result<List<String>>> all() {
    if (_sqlQuery.valid()) {
      final apiRequest = ApiRequest(
        address: _address,
        sqlQuery: _sqlQuery,
      );
      return apiRequest.fetch().then((result) {
        _log.fine('.all | result: $result');
        return result.fold(
          onData: (apiReply) {
            final data = apiReply.data.map((row) {
              _log.fine('.all | row: $row');
              return row['name'].toString();
            });
            return Result(data: data.toList());
          },
          onError: (error) {
            return Result(error: error);
          },
        );
      });
    }
    return Future.value(
      Result(
        error: Failure(message: '[Books.all] error: SQL query has errors or empty', stackTrace: StackTrace.current),
      ),
    );
  }
}
  • Use Books class
final books = Books(
    address: ApiAddress.localhost(),
    sqlQuery: SqlQuery(
        authToken: 'your-auth-token',
        database: 'database',
        sql: 'SELECT * FROM books;',
    ),
);
final content = books.all()
