Identifying Textures
Looking at all the files in the chunk/nativePC folder can be confusing and hard to figure out what file is what in the start. These lists and resources are here for you to find the armor, monster, or weapon files you need to find to make your Monster Hunter World mod.
BML.Tex - Bitmap texture, generally the bulk of what you'll see in game.
BM.Tex - Bitmap textures that uses semi-transparent material.
CMM.Tex - For amours: textures that determine what areas can be color customizable. (For other things they do different things including tinting and emission animations).
NM.Tex - Normal Map textures, Used to create depth on textures without changing the model.
EM.Tex - Emissions map textures, controls the intensity of light emitting from the object.
RMT.Tex - Roughness, Metallic, Transparency/SSS.
(Red is Roughness, Green is metallic and Blue is Subsurface Scattering- thanks to *& and Dallagen).
FM.Tex - Fur textures.
(Blue is presence of fur, Red and Green determine directions of fur - thanks to *&).
XM.Tex - Specular Map, reflections of a texture.
