I want to play with Total annihilation Titans again

Hello and thanks in advance for your help

Before reinstalling the laptop the game was working then I dunno if for some coincidence or installation system update during reinstallation with the new iso I cannot play the game anymore.
I can play all other games in my library both on proton experimental and native linux steam compatibility.
I have tried to purge uninstall the game and then reinstall it..... no cigar.....

In case I missed to give you any technical data please ask I will reply.

It is one of my favorite so please help.

Here some tecnical data about the system and the Nvidia 3700 graphic card (installed the proprietary drivers)

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. install debian 12 https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/bookworm_di_alpha1/amd64/iso-cd/
  2. To upgrade from bookworm alpha to latest stable edit /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/preferences as mentioned above
  3. apt-get update && apt-get full-upgrade
  4. install steam and repeat point 3
  5. install Total Annihilation Titans from the library
  6. try launching it like it is ... it crashes, try forcing linux compatibility, it crashes, try all the proton compatibility versions it starts and then or at the beginning or when trying to play some missions it crashes

I have now enabled and set to max priority the nvidia apt source
now my NVIDIA drivers/libraries version is really the latest bleeding edge version Driver Version: 530.30.02 CUDA Version: 12.1

@kisak-valve still no reply from devs moreover no compatibility proton works anymore (the game crashes when I try to start a mission in the campaign) and it used to work just fine

I am testing some options that seem to make it work I report those here for others that might incur in the same issues
the instructions are valid on debian 12 latest

1 disable steam overlay while in game
2 disable game theatre
3 launching options PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_LOG_DIR=~/ PROTON_CRASH_REPORT_DIR=~/ SSL_CERT_FILE=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% --coherent-options="--renderer-process-limit=3"
4 force proton 7.0.6 compatibility
