E.g RPM and YUM (Fedora). Currently Tom 'spot' Callaway created a YUM repository for Steam, but it would be great if this would be supported/offered by Valve. RPMs can also be used by openSUSE, etc. Or tarball if none of the packages suits.

+1 Archive (like .tar.gz), so each distro can make its own package
