Fuzu Weather Dashboard

Welcome to the Fuzu Weather Dashboard! This is a simple multilingual weather dashboard built using React. This readme provides an overview of the project architecture, outlines some of the cool features, and suggests ideas for improvement and scalability.

Architecture Design

The project follows a modular architecture design, with components structured to handle specific functionalities:

1. Multilingual UI: Implemented using the react-intl library, the application supports English and Swahili languages. The language switcher allows users to toggle between these languages seamlessly.

2. Weather Display: Weather data is fetched from the OpenWeatherMap API and displayed on the dashboard. The fetchWeatherData function retrieves current weather data for Nairobi, Kenya and other local cities.

3. State Management: React's Context API is utilized for state management. A context provider manages weather data and other app configurations throughout the application.

4. Building Components: Components are designed to display temperature, weather conditions, and other relevant information. The dashboard is styled using styled-components, tailwinds and NextUI to ensure usability across various devices.

Ideas for Improvement and Scalability

1. Enhanced Error Handling: Implement robust error handling mechanisms to gracefully handle API errors, network issues, and bad responses. Provide informative error messages to guide users effectively.

2. Dynamic Location Selection: Allow users to search for and select their desired location to view weather information. Implement autocomplete functionality for location search to enhance user experience.

3. Additional Weather Data: Expand the application to fetch and display additional weather data such as hourly forecasts, precipitation, and wind speed. Provide users with comprehensive weather insights for better planning and decision-making.

4. Localization Support: Extend multilingual support to include additional languages to cater to a wider audience. Allow users to customize language preferences based on their preferences.

5. Performance Optimization: Optimize code and assets to improve application performance and loading times. Implement code splitting and lazy loading for better resource utilization and faster page loads.

Getting Started

To run the Fuzu Weather Dashboard locally, follow these steps:

1. Clone the GitHub repository: git clone https://github.com/trapsta/fuzu.git

2. Navigate to the project directory: cd fuzu

3. Install dependencies: npm install

4. Start the development server: npm start

5. Open your browser and visit http://localhost:3000 to view the dashboard.

Testing

The project includes unit tests for components and state management. To run the tests, use the following command:

npm test
