Currently What's New shows the last video of each subscribed channel. This was a bit unclear to me as a new user, I thought it would collect all new videos. I understand the idea, but it is very limited in its current behavior. I suggest few customization options to make it fit each person's use case:
No Videos per Channel : 1[default] up to 10
Max Hours Age of What's New Videos: 24[default] up to 168
Remove watched videos: no[default], yes - removes videos that were opened from What's New.
Also, it seems videos in What's New are not sorted by age, so:
Sort What's New videos by: newest first[default]. oldest first

I think we can close that issue as the "What's new" view has fundamentally changed since this issue was opened.
Now multiple new videos are shown and there is also an option for hiding watched videos.
If there are objections please reopen a new issue and describe them there.
