Feature Request: A Proper YT Kids

The existing YT kids app is a joke, and NewPipe is uniquely positioned to provide a far more powerful alternative.

Initial Minimum Feature:

• Channel Whitelisting: Only videos from a whitelisted set of channels are allowed.

Potential Features:

• Parental monitoring and reporting, which videos/channels were watched, and for how long.
• Separate child accounts with passwords for access, and individual time limits, monitoring, and whitelisting.

I think it'd be a great feature, and certainly something that isn't offered by YT as of yet.

Well... Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not what NewPipe is for. NewPipe is meant to provide a libre environment, aka provide features that Google would otherwise charge for. NewPipe is designed for convenience, not safety.

I don't think Ecksters means Youtube accounts but just offline accounts for the purpose of different subscriptions feeds and such.

This would be probably quite hard to implement and I'm not exactly sure if it fits in the project's scope. 🤔

(As a sidenote : No, Newpipe is not to have an app that has features that Google makes you pay for but rather that we have no reason to limit ourselves this way)

SkyTube on F-Droid has blacklisting and whitelisting capabilities. At minimum, that might be nice to have
