It may also be that the router needs a reboot.
- Check that you can reach the router in your web browser. Typically the address is 192.168.1.1, your admin should know if it is something else.
- Are cables connected ;)
- Do a reboot
- Check that you can reach the power manager and toggle power from there. As of
v1.5.6
you can do this from the maintenance page in the Scan-o-matic UI.
- This may be because the power manager's surge protection has been triggered previously by some disturbance on the electric grid such as thunderstorms. The power manager has a reset button. Press it.
- You may need to reboot the router.
- If you can toggle power but scan-o-matic can't you may need restarting scan-o-matic. Why not just restart computer all over.
If problem persists:
- Does scan-o-matic have the correct ip for the power manager
- Consider filing a bug. Supply the system logs from scan-o-matic and the html for the power manager pages.
On the left side of this image there is a band of whiter than expected pixels
This most probably relates to faulty calibration of the scanner. Each time before scanning the scanner calibrates its lamp and sensor. This is done outside the image, right at the bottom of the scanner and this is why the fixture has a piece cut out there to not get faulty calibrations for the parts that correspond to plates and gray scale.
This may be caused by one or more of these things:
- There may be dust or dirt in the corresponding place in the sensor-lamp calibration area.
- If this is outside of the fixture cutout area for the sensor-lamp calibration, fixture may be dirty or less transparent.
- The sensor of the scanner may be deteriorating, in which case it probably needs replacement or the entire scanner needs scrapping.
