We use react-firebaseui but it hasn't been updated in 3 years. This is a problem for two reasons:

  1. Firebase has updated some stuff - Firebase 2024 signInWithRedirect changes #843 - and that may (is) cause our logins to become nonfunctional
  2. It's hard to tell what's actually being called when you have to work your way through multiple layers of external library

Would recommend moving off this.
