Qubes OS version:

R4.0

Affected component(s) or functionality:

qubes-manager-4.0.28-1.fc25

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a DVM Template.
  2. Create a static DispVM based on the DVM Template.
  3. In the Qube Manager, attempt to rename the DVM Template.

Expected or desired behavior:

Rename goes through normally.

Actual behavior:

Qube Manager silently dies. Rename is left in an intermediate state (two copies of DVM Template).

I am aware of the following related, non-duplicate issues:

It appears that the fix for #4745 has resulted in no error message and Qube Manager just dying, which is worse than before #4745 was reported.

Fixed error in displaying error on VM Rename

VM rename was incorrectly trying to display an error by itself and not
use QThreads embedded mechanism.
