jessie based Whonix was Whonix 13.
stretch based Whonix was Whonix 14.
buster based Whonix is Whonix 15.

And here is another one. I did a fresh Qubes OS 4 installation a few days ago and followed the post-installation advice given here: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/installation-guide/ This means I ran:
Now I try to update whonix-gw-14 and whonix-ws-14 and get this:
Did something change 2 days ago? So far I followed along the documentation of getting Qubes OS 4 up and running. (Should I open a new ticket?) |

Yes, I'd suggest doing it fresh (https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Qubes/Install) rather than trying to upgrade from 14.
Yes, that's another option, but it's not really necessary to wait.
Personally, I opted to install Whonix 15 fresh (https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Qubes/Install) rather than attempt an in-place upgrade. I felt that this was simpler and less error-prone, and I didn't have a need to upgrade in-place. |
I did the same thing (uninstalled 14, installed 15), yesterday, after the most recent TB update failed to work correctly in 14. |
