The first tag will be v54: skipping tag v53 as I don't want to edit it

Since we will be on the 8.0.0 Robot stack release cycle for a month we will follow a similar pattern to the monorepo and isolate what we want in the 8.0.0 release. This allows ongoing work to main and any fixes needed to 8.0.0 to be isolated.

pull main
create chore_release-8.0.0 from main
push chore_release-8.0.0
create and push tag v54

before alpha.1 make sure the v52...v54 comparison looks right. We did not merge release back to main after the issues with 7.4.0 and tag v53 being not noticed.
