Why would I get an error message "REopt could not find an optimal solution for these inputs", for a resilience evaluation?

Here are several situations where you might get the error message "REopt could not find an optimal solution for these inputs", or an infeasible solution.

• If you overly constrain the size of the system in a way that doesn't allow access to enough power to meet the critical load for the entire outage period, the solution becomes infeasible. This could happen if you constrain both the maximum size of your PV and your battery, and also constrain the size and/or amount of diesel fuel for a backup generator.
• If you are attempting to evaluate only a generator during a significant outage, and you don't override the default "fuel availability" of 660 gallons with a larger volume of fuel, then you might not have enough fuel to survive the outage with the size of generator that would be required to meet your critical load for the entire outage period. The scenario will be infeasible and you will get an error message.
• If you are attempting to evaluate only PV during the outage, you need to be certain that your outage hours occur only when the sun is shining. If you attempt a nighttime outage, without allowing a battery or a generator to meet those hours, you will get an infeasible error.
• If you are using the API and set a net-metering limit that is smaller than a specified minimum size system (so that net-metering isn't allowed), in combination with an API entry setting of "false" for the input “can_curtail”, so that any excess PV can’t curtail, then if there is excess PV generation above the electric load, it puts the optimizer in a position where it can't do anything with the excess solar generation and the scenario becomes infeasible.
