See tgstation/tgstation#78502 for both explanation and why it's good.

Changelog

🆑 Melbert, Absolucy
balance: Transformation sting now lasts 8 minutes, down from permanent. However, the effect is paused for dead and stasis mobs, making it permanent SO LONG AS they stay dead or in stasis. The effect is also permanent if used on a monkey.
balance: Transformation sting now costs 33 chemicals, down from 50.
balance: Transformation sting now costs 2 dna points, down from 3.

Highly dislike this change. This just reeks of TG players hating their OCs getting fucked with, same sentiment I had when it was merged over there.

@lmenvs Well it should be reversible or temporary in some way, without requiring pre-emptive DNA backups.

Do you prefer the "cured via chemistry" method I PR'd on Bee?

@dwasint viruses are way too hard and time-consuming to cure here imo, especially for something that could just be re-applied in a few seconds

make the virus always use the same antigen strains, than its a one time cure, hell you could even add unique antigens for changeling stuff
