1. How to uninstall this app properly without getting into any troubles?

(How dare you?)

Most of the users are concerned about the "safety" of their system which we completely respect and understand. But we assure you this app won't cause any problems to your system other than hiding the built-in flyout (which won't cause any instabilities).

Never mind, let's get back to "uninstalling" the app.

a. Pre-Uninstallation procedures:

To do the uninstallation of the app properly, follow these steps before doing it.

  • Method 1 (From the Start Menu or Windows Search)

    • Find this app's entry in the Start menu or search it in the Windows Search bar.
    • (If you used the Start Menu to find the app entry, right click on it to bring up the context menu.)
    • You may see the options "Restore legacy flyout" or "Exit" (it may show differently if you have changed the app's language).
    • Click on any one of them and you're done! You can proceed to step 'b'.
  • Method 2 (From the system tray)

    • If you have the tray icon enabled on ModernFlyouts' Setting, you may see the app's icon in the system tray.
    • Right click on it to bring up the context menu.
    • Click on "Exit" and you're done! Proceed to step 'b'.

b. Actual uninstallation:

From here on, the actual uninstallation is similar to a normal UWP/Store application. You can use the Start Menu, Windows Search or the Apps and Features page on Windows Settings (Note that this app won't be shown in the Programs and Features page of Control Panel so the former mentioned methods are the only possible ways). You may also use some 3rd party uninstallers for this purpose but we recommend using the Windows provided methods.

"So, what if I [skipped/didn't know about] step 'a'?" you may ask. Don't worry! We got you covered. See the step 'a' of the next section.

2. How to recover the flyouts if it crashed?

You can do 2 things from here:

a. Stop using this app, uninstall it and live with the ugly old one:

(Just kidding, we try to solve bugs as hard as we can and prevent them from happening in the future)

If you are concerned about the safety of your system, you can restore the legacy flyout by following step 'a' of the first section.

If that doesn't work, just restart your operating system (the Ol' Reliable). You can also just restart the Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) without rebooting the whole OS.

b. You can just start this app again and carry on:

(that's literally it!).

If you are willing for us to improve this app, then you can file a new bug report. (If you know how to collect crash reports, you can attach them too. If you don't know, learn it from here)
