It's not possible to edit selected VM displayed through Resource Pool's textual summary page, nothing in the UI, no error.

Steps:

  1. Go to Compute > Infra > Resource Pools
  2. Click on some Resource Pool to display its summary
  3. In Relationships, click on Direct VMs or All VMs
  4. Select some VM and Configuration > Edit Selected item
=> nothing happens in the UI, no error:
    nothing_edit_vm

However, editing the same VM is possible when accesing the VM through Compute > Infra > VMs, or from textual summary of the VM:
edit_expect
