Guide for dummies #1
Comments
Hey MattkowA, For now I'm going to post this tutorial, you may ignore the coding portion, to setup the bot. When I get some spare time, I will add a tutorial for laymen as well, but for now this bot is in a very development esque phase, which means that I can't guarantee for anything when using the bot. I myself just went through this code for some fun and did never intend to publish this bot, so there might be slow response times. |
Thank you for posting the tutorial anyway, I actually managed to set it up and invite it to the server so it's quite interesting. Unfortunately it appears offline on the channel (don't know if that's normal) and doesn't take my commands so I guess I won't manage :D Anyway, thank you again. |
There is a bat file attached called startserver. You should be able to start the bot by opening the file. |
Hi there, different user. Did my best to follow the steps, tried to run the bat file, but it's saying that it can't find module "./config/config.json". Not 100% sure where I donked up, honestly |
You didn't anywhere to be honest, there will be a update shortly that will auto generate the config file with the files to fill. |
The bot was just updated. On first launch it will auto create a configs folder containing a config file, where you need to enter your server id as well as your bot token. |
Thanks for the bot. Managed to get it working. |
Hi Lilith,
I really appreciate the work you're putting into this bot. I would love to try it but unfortunately I got stuck after installing node.js as I am not familiar with coding. Could you please provide a guide for dummies once you deem the bot to be operational enough to be used by laymen?
Thank you for your effort!
