Changelog

This new release features a Live system (so no permanence) with the option to install to physical media (even though this is not implemented yet).

From now on Gloire releases will be released more regularly and versioned using semver. 1.0 will happen when the system is deemed production ready with a proper package manager and online package repositories.

Even though Gloire supports riscv64, I chose not to add it due to it being very immature. For testing the riscv port, weekly snapshots are available.

Usage

Before use, the image must be uncompressed, with, for example:

xzcat < gloire-0.1.0-x86_64.iso.xz > gloire-0.1.0-x86_64.iso

One can just burn this image on a USB drive or SATA/IDE/NVMe drive using:

sh -c "cat gloire-0.1.0-x86_64.iso > /dev/<desired device>"

It can also be burned to optical media, not with the previous command though.

Otherwise it can be booted from qemu with a command like

qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -cpu host -smp 4 -m 8G -M q35 -drive format=raw,file=gloire-0.1.0-x86_64.iso -serial stdio

Signature checking

To check the signature against the .iso.xz file one can use

# gpg --import ironclad-keyring.gpg if you dont have the project's keyring.
gpg --verify gloire-0.1.0-x86_64.iso.xz.sig

You can download ironclad-keyring.gpg here.
