Imagine that the man who you have trusted as the Savior of your life, the one you have expected to conquer evil, has died three days ago as a Roman criminal even though he had done nothing wrong. Some quick background knowledge: in that time, a common belief was that the spirit left a dead body on the third day. Therefore, Jesus would be as good as gone.
