The name of "LaSuli" is a french acronym for "Logiciel d'annotation sociale à l'usage des lecteurs-interprètes" (social annotation software for interpretative reading).

  • 2005: Aurélien Bénel and Mona Farhat designed a first mockup of a social annotation software as a complement to Porphyry.
  • 2008-2009: Chao Zhou developed LaSuli as a Firefox extension so that it can be used on any existing HTML or TXT resource on the Web.
  • 2009-2011: Chao Zhou adopted a new technology to improve LaSuli user interface.
