Something chaged on one of the last updates (now version 2.2). If you long press the dot you see additional symbols. Among them, within the Spanish keyboard layout, you'll find ! and ? for exclamatiosn and questions. Before, the INVERTED Spanish exclamation and question marks (¡ and ¿) showed up which is the only useful option as the other symbols already appear with long pressing n and m, respectively. Therefore, it would be useful to switch back to the INVERTED Spanish exclamation and question marks (¡ and ¿) always required in the beginning of any sentence.

Even better would be to replace ! and ? on (long press) m and n with the inverted marks ONLY for the Spanish layout and keep long press dot like it is now with the ending marks (as Spanish questions resp. exclamations START with the inverted mark and END with the common mark - though I don't know it that's easily possible only for a specific keyboard layout).

Device is Motorola moto g8
Android 11 (manufacturer)

You can do this by editing the symbols layout. Having separate symbols layouts per language would be too much.

yes, it's already fixed to be like 2.1, and will be in the next release.
