FAQ
For now you can check for a new Update by navigating in SUVA to the About/Help section and clicking on the Check for new version button. It will tell you if an update is available and will open the webpages where you can download the update from.
To update please follow these instructions: Click me
When SUVA is started as administrator (recommended) then OBS needs administrator privileges as well to be able to detect it.
Using the no-HMD setup is not recommended unless you absolutely have to.
Yes! Usually there is no difference in behaviour of SteamVR when the HMD is plugged in. Just make sure to close SteamVR before plugging the HMD in or unplugging it to switch between No-HMD or with HMD.
Not yet. This feature will be added in the future.
This issue can occur when using a version of SUVA that is older then 1.5.6. Versions 1.5.6 and up use Unity 2018 and should no longer be affected.
Using the right microphone in the current SUVA version is depending on the setup of SteamVR and Windows. Selecting the device in SUVA is disabled due to a bug in Unity version 2017.4.15f1. Future versions will be allow you to easily switch devices.
- Start SteamVR (it usually changes the microphone to the HMD mic when it starts)
- Go to the Windows Audio settings
- Change the default recording device to the device you want to use with SUVA
- Start SUVA
At this point the selected microphone should be used by SUVA.
SUVA tried to select another microphone because it got saved in the configuration file previously.
- delete the saved avatar profiles
or
- edit the saved avatar profiles in a text editor (while SUVA is not running)
- search for
SelectedMicrophone
and replace the microphone names for every occurrence
(avatar profiles filepath: C:\Users\<UserNameHere>\AppData\LocalLow\GuSo\StreamUrVirtualAvatar\Json\AvatarSettings\AvatarProfiles.json
)
- Before modification:
{
"$type": "SUVA_SDK.Scripts.Saving.DTOs.SavableStringDto, Saving",
"Data": "Microphone XYZ",
"Identifier": "SelectedMicrophone"
},
- After modification:
{
"$type": "SUVA_SDK.Scripts.Saving.DTOs.SavableStringDto, Saving",
"Data": "",
"Identifier": "SelectedMicrophone"
},
Now repeat the instructions again and the microphone should work as intended.
SUVA must be started and run on the same monitor the Tobii tracker is attached to.
- The monitor can be selected in the start-up window, also make sure that you drag the start-up window on the monitor with the Tobii tracker before pressing Play!.
- Ideally the SUVA window is centered on the screen
- When using non-fullscreen window sizes the virtual monitor distance may be increased to reduce the eye movements
- SUVA can run in the background and can also be minimzed (should have no influence on tracking)
- In case it is still not working:
- select the default avatar
- press Save
- restart SUVA
- In case the tracking works now on the default avatar please check the avatar eye bone setup (import settings in Unity) and the Blinking blendshape name on the avatar descriptor
