Improving of print/export functionalities #686
Comments
...but that only means the scale is valid only for the resolution of the display used when setting the scale, right? Printing document with such a scale would result in scaling ratio different from the one chosen, given the printing device has generally different resolutions that the resolution of the display used when setting the resolution. To make the function usable - while exporting - one would have to set also the resolution of the destination device where the map would be ultimately presented, to make the scale correspond to reality. |
On that site, they don’t interact with the printer. They export the map to pdf and automatically decide the number of paper sheets needed, according to the choosen scale and the dimensions of the selected area.
I don’t know how they do it, but it works really good…

Hello guys, how are you ?
I was wondering if it is possible to improve the print/export function with a fixed scale modality.
I found this possibility on inkatlas website ( https://inkatlas.com/ ), where you can choose to print a map area at 1:25000, 1:50000 or any scale you want. I don't know how this can be done, but I am sure it can bring a lot of new users to Freemap !
