Thunderbird 52.0.1 and EWS addon version 3.9.0 issue

Installed TB 52.0.1 and the EWS 3.9.0 addon, on a system running OS X Sierra 10.12.4. I attempted to configure connection to the same calendar that works with TB 45.8.0 and EWS 3.9.0 addon. When I attempt to use the autodiscovery function I get "[JavaScript Application] Error during autodiscovery: HTTP Client error 403: Forbidden URL:http://autodiscover.umass.edu/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml (-19)".
