I'm looking to start a blog for the CoReACTER. In this (draft) first post, I explore the idea of mechanisms as a type of chemical conjecture. I use the example of my somewhat-recent paper with Thea Petrocelli to illustrate why one might choose to challenge a postulated mechanism, and how one might go about doing so.
