Summary

SUMMARY: Content "Added outbuildings to default farm"

Purpose of change

The default farm always has the same layout (though the farmhouse has 2 possible layouts). I wanted to add some more farm-type buildings to the lot, as it is otherwise just tilled soil and food.

Additional context

Added a grain silo -- A direct copy of the silo from ranch_camp_57 except that mine has fewer tools and there's actually wheat in the silo.

Added a greenhouse -- The Greenhouse is just a glass building with tilled soil (which has the same chance to spawn food items as the outside tilled soil) and a rack with possible earthworking tools. This greenhouse is purely aesthetic, of course, it won't allow you to grow plants in cold weather.

Added a chicken coop -- A simple wooden building with some straw. Inside, two chickens and a baby chick will spawn. I am unfamiliar with the animal-raising aspect of Cataclysm, so ya'll have to let me know if having chickens in a confined space is too much of a boon for the player.

Remember that the farm is a potential spawn location for those in the 'Out of Town' scenario, so if anything is unbalanced, it could have a significant impact on those that begin their game there.

Adds a grain silo (copied from ranch_camp_57), a chicken coop, and a greenhouse as possible spawns for farm_1 (Upper right portion of the farm, usually occupied by tilled soil and food).

Are you sure the coop will hold the chickens inside? I recall people complaining about fences not being able to contain animals as they should.

Not sure at all. They are located inside a building of wooden walls, with a wooden door and makeshift door, so I assume it's fully closed in. There is an exterior fence as well, but I wouldn't expect that to stop them.

EDIT: After a little bit of testing, they seem happy to stay in the building. I tested by standing on one side of the building (so they congregated at the other) and then waiting for long periods of time. I then swapped sides so they were near the door tiles, and repeated. It's limited testing, of course, but they never left.

Are you sure the coop will hold the chickens inside? I recall people complaining about fences not being able to contain animals as they should.

Anyway poultry would die if not fed/hydrated daily.
