Troubleshooting Problems with Starboard

Note: The following is for troubleshooting usage of the bot and may not be helpful if you are self-hosting it. If anything here does not help, you can join the support server

Starboard isn't responding

• Please check starboards permissions

Starboard isn't posting starred messages

• Please check starboards permissions
• Please check the starboard settings

Checking Permissions

• Make sure the bot can see the channel you're messaging are starring in
• Make sure the bot has permission to send messages and embed links in the starboard You can mention the bot in the channel and in the starboard, and it should respond if it responds, try running [p]help, and if nothing sends the bot doesn't have EMBED LINKS permission. If it doesn't respond, make sure the bot is online and can see the channel you mentioned it in.

Checking Starboard Settings

• run [p]starboards <starboard> to view settings for a starboard
• Note the following things:
  • selfStar -- Whether or not you can star your own messages
  • botsOnStatboard -- Whether or not a bot's message can appear on the starboard
  • requiredStars -- How many stars are required for the message to appear on the starboard If everything looks right and you think there is a but, join the support server and report the problem.
