Note you don't need to compile from source, your dmg is fine

My statement from minecraft-linux discord server

1. Make shure you have installed the appimage or DMG (of my fork see pinned messages) (or install my mcpelauncher-ui-qt .deb / pkg.*)
2. Open launcher settings
3. select 1.14.60.5
4. press delete or remove
5. close settings
6. Download and run the Minecraft 1.14.60.5 via the updated launcher

You would be the first one, who would keep getting your posted error after following the steps carefully
If it is another error feel free to post it here.
