PSU

The Erika 3004 is powered by a pretty heavy switching PSU, the transformer will deliver ~37V and is rated for 220V. 2 L296 Chips are used to get you 2 5V and 2 16V rails, but only 3 neutrals (?! connecting them seems to be no issue though). The 5V rail is used to power the board and draws about 300mA@5V, the 16V rail seems to only be responsible for the stepper motors. They draw about 1.6-1.8A@16V under full load (typing at full speed). The Erika can be reset by only cutting the 16V rail.

The Erika is rated to draw a maximum of 50W from mains but should't use more than ~30W under full load. So there seems to be some headroom on the PSU.
