Newick Trees

Like genetic distance networks, a phylogenetic tree represents the evolutionary relationships among a set of sequences from a group of organisms. The most common format to save a tree file is Newick (.nwk). You can import Newick phylogenetic tree files generated in a phylogeny program, and MicrobeTrace will generate a network using the genetic distances calculated from the tree branch lengths using a patristic distance algorithm.
