Steps to reproduce:

  1. FAB -> Story post
  2. Choose or take a photo
  3. Add some text or emoji
  4. Press circle button to return to android home screen
  5. Open the WP app again
  6. Story creation experience is gone and the My Site view is displayed

Expected behavior:
Story creation experience persists unless dismissed by the user.

I don't remember this happening in previous builds?

I tested the same thing with the block editor and it's also dismissed upon returning to the app after an app switch. But in the case of the editor a draft is saved. Generally speaking this seems like something we'd want to fix across the app since mobile experiences are easily disrupted by push notifications, sms, or phone calls.

Related: the dismissed story creates an empty local draft.

Tested this one out and followed up with @megsfulton. It looks like a low device memory situation for her, the problem was solved after dismissing some open apps.

I suppose it's a bit related to #370, though the behavior is a bit different than that mode from my testing. Maybe it's more akin to limiting background processes, but that one didn't send me back to My Site. Anyway important to resolve for the beta - @mzorz we can fold this one into #370 or vice versa, but it might be two different things.

Also adding, was observed by @mattmiklic here:

At one point after adding a sticker and text and then switching to a different slide, when I came back the sticker and text had disappeared.

Added the Alpha1 feedback label as well given it was observed / reported by testers in this phase as well
