SmartContextMenu becomes nonfunctional a few minutes after the software starts ( Ctrl + Right Click no longer brings up the context menu) #15
Comments
Hi @bootlegseahorse, What OS version do you use? Is the menu not summoned for all windows including Notepad? Please, also try to add to your Windows Registry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop" parameter "LowLevelHooksTimeout" with value 10000. |
Thank you. I've used both Windows 11 23H2 and Windows 10 22H2 and both suffer from the same problem. I've tried the LowLevelHooksTimeout trick and the software does seem to work a little bit steadier, but the problem still remains. |
The software has been running steadily for several hours now. Pretty satisfying to me. Thanks for suggesting the timeout trick. |
It has run flawlessly for over a day now. I think the problem's likely solved. If I don't encounter this issue again in the next few days I'll close this one. Thanks again for the great app. |
Ok, For convenience, SmartContextMenu will set "LowLevelHooksTimeout" parameter at startup in the next version. |
Thank you very much! |
Please, try version 1.3.1 |
When SmartContextMenu is initially launched, it runs flawlessly, and the context menu can be summoned properly using Ctrl + Right-Click. However, after the software has been running for a while, the context menu suddenly becomes unresponsive, and cannot be summoned in any window. Only restarting the software restores its normal function. I don't know why this happens and hopefully this could be fixed in the next release. Thank you!
