1. Installing and Using Unity Mod Manager for Derail Valley

Unity Mod Manager is essential for managing mods in Derail Valley, including the Multiplayer Mod. Below are the steps to install and set up Unity Mod Manager.

Step 1: Download Unity Mod Manager

  1. Visit the Unity Mod Manager page on NexusMods.
  2. Click on Files and download the latest version of Unity Mod Manager.
  3. Extract the downloaded ZIP file to a folder of your choice.

Step 2: Set Up Unity Mod Manager

  1. Open the UnityModManager.exe file from the folder where you extracted it.
  2. In Unity Mod Manager:
    • Select Derail Valley from the game dropdown list.

  • Set the Game Folder path to your Derail Valley installation directory (where the game’s executable is located).

  • Click Install. This will install Unity Mod Manager into Derail Valley.

Step 3: Launching Unity Mod Manager

  • Once installed, you can open Unity Mod Manager during the game by pressing Ctrl + F10 to manage your installed mods.

2. Installing the Multiplayer Mod for Derail Valley

After setting up Unity Mod Manager, you can install the Multiplayer Mod for Derail Valley.

Step 1: Download the Multiplayer Mod

  1. Go to the Multiplayer Mod Releases page on GitHub.
  2. Download the latest version of the Multiplayer Mod (ZIP file).

Step 2: Install the Multiplayer Mod Using Unity Mod Manager

  1. Open Unity Mod Manager installer.
  2. In Unity Mod Manager, locate the Install Mod button in the Mods tab.
  3. Drag and drop the ZIP file you downloaded into the Unity Mod Manager window, or select it using the browse button.
  4. Unity Mod Manager will automatically install the Multiplayer Mod.

Step 3: Verify Installation

  1. After installation, you should see the Multiplayer Mod listed in the Mods tab in Unity Mod Manager.
  2. Ensure that the mod is enabled and ready for use.

3. Updating the Multiplayer Mod

Unity Mod Manager provides an easy way to keep your mods up to date. When a new version of the Multiplayer Mod is released, Unity Mod Manager will indicate that an update is available.

There will also be a notification (0.1.8.3+) in the game to notify of an update.

Step 1: Check for Updates

  1. Open Unity Mod Manager (via Ctrl + F10 in-game or from the installation folder).
  2. Go to the Mods tab.
  3. If a new version of the Multiplayer Mod is available, you will see an Update Available symbol next to the mod's version number.

Step 2: Update the Mod Using Unity Mod Manager

  1. In the Mods tab, locate the Multiplayer Mod that requires an update.

Step 3: Verify the Update

  1. Once the update is complete, check the Mods tab again to verify that the version number has been updated.
  2. Ensure that the mod is still enabled and functioning correctly.
