Hidden bawls, whispers, and yelps: can text convey the sound of speech, beyond words?
This page will eventually link to code, data, and anonymized results for the Hidden bawls, whispers, and yelps… paper.
For now, we will present the videos used in the experiment related to the paper, over which we added their source audios (in the actual experiment the videos were muted). Also, in the experiment, each round contained just one stanza of each poem, which here is presented in its complete form. The stanzas used were chosen from both version A and B.
The original poems were Três Prenúncios, Dez sonetóides Mancos, Súcubo, and Três tercinas, all from Paulo Henriques Britto.
