yesterday all the taskbar icons disappeared.
i've done all the https://github.com/zpydr/gnome-shell-extension-taskbar/wiki/TaskBar-Troubleshooting
then reinstalled it, but on https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/584/taskbar/ i see an red error button, the settings button and the remove button.
via ALT+F2 lg i found the following error message:
can't convert buttonTask.get_transformed_size(...)[0] to integer

TaskBar Version: 57
GNOME-Shell-Version: 3.18
OS-System: Ubuntu 16.04.4

Same here

$ uname -srv
Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.82-1+deb9u3 (2018-03-02)
$ gnome-shell --version
GNOME Shell 3.22.3

I also filed a bug report on the gnome extension page.

Downgrading to v56 seems to help.

i haven't done anything (no reinstall, no os system updates, at least without any notification) and today the icons surprisingly appeared again.

I know this is not GITHUB worthy but it is time to relax and get the hell away from a computer.

Same problem, it seems that this happens for me mostly after waking up from suspend (suspend includes locking the screen).

Sep 11 08:42:18 gnome-shell[1561]: JS LOG: Extension "TaskBar@zpydr" had error: Error: can't convert "x" to an integer

The latter one was definitely connected to the last extension crash I noticed. In gnome-tweak-tool the extension is disabled with "Error loading extension".

Debian 9 stretch
Taskbar v57
gnome 3.22

EDIT:

After coming back to my (screensaver locked) screen after ~20 minutes, the extension all of a sudden has loaded again and is working.. very strange. Some more messages in user.log:
